A Tamil Edition of Culture Cards? Help us make it.

Picture this: it's a family gathering, someone's aunty has already asked three cousins when they're getting married, the pressure cooker is whistling in the background, and your thatha is asleep in the best chair. That's the world a Tamil Edition of Culture Cards would live in — a warmly chaotic, filter-coffee-fueled universe of summer visits to Chennai, Carnatic music practice you definitely quit, and the particular social choreography of a Tamil wedding reception line. We want to build a card game that makes Tamil diaspora families and friend groups burst out laughing because finally, someone gets it.

Tamil culture spans continents — from Chennai to Toronto to Colombo to London — and every pocket of it has its own flavor of shared memory. The reverence for education, the ferocity of love expressed through feeding people, the civil war between classical music loyalists and kuthu fans, the unspoken competition over whose child got into medicine. A Tamil Edition would honor all of it with affection and zero cringe. If you want this to exist, tell us — your vote literally shapes which edition we build next.

Cards that might be in the deck

Name three things your amma said immediately after you told her your salary.
Do your best impression of a Tamil uncle explaining a 45-minute shortcut that adds an hour to the drive.
What dish would your paati make to silently communicate she is disappointed in your life choices?
Everyone at the table: rank these by how much stress they cause — board exam results, daughter's wedding date, son's vegetarian girlfriend, or running out of filter coffee.
Tell a story that begins: 'We went to the temple, but actually it became a three-hour thing because…'

Just a taste — the real deck would be shaped with the Tamil community.

Frequently asked

Is the Tamil Edition available yet?

Not yet — but that's exactly why we want to hear from you. The Tamil Edition is currently in the 'we know it needs to exist' stage. Signing up tells us there's real demand and puts you first in line when it launches.

How do you decide which editions to make?

Genuinely, by community interest. We launched with the Telugu Edition and let the diaspora tell us what came next. The more people who sign up for a specific edition, the faster it climbs our production queue. Your email is a vote.

First up: the Telugu Edition is in pre-order now, with the Persian Edition next in line.
